Planning: The Dress 2012

Bridal week has come and gone and I think by now I have finally exhausted majority of what's to come for Fall 2012 Bridal and here are my findings:

  • Sleeves: lace, sheer, short, long... I LOVE it. I am secretly plotting the wedding of a very very close friend of mine and these trends are right up her ally (wink)
  • Color: from blush to black every year finds designer embracing more and more color
  • Sparkle: need I say more...
  • Legs: I mean if it isn't the influx of more short bridal gowns we are now showing more leg with slits (slits from here to there)
  • Cover ups: bolero jackets and higher necklines offer some of our more traditional brides with mover coverage (again a plus for the wedding I am secretly plotting)
  • Patterns: designers are using fabric and sequins and are working the heck out of the bodices and skirts with very eye catching patterns and details (two snaps up)
Overall there were lots and lots of pretty dresses and brides are going to have a heck of a time picking "the one". So to give you a head start on your selections,  here are some of my faves:

My stash from Biz Bash

Today I had the pleasure of attending Biz Bash in the city ( NYC). For those not familiar with Biz Bash, it is a trade show full or vendors in all areas catering to the special events arena. Vendors in linen, entertainment, catering, drapery...you name it, it was well represented. In addition, there are several seminars and awards specials. Unfortunately my time only allowed for me to attend the trade show but I am so glad I did or else I would have missed these:

NO...this is not a statue but it certainly looked like one.

 Inflate: Indoor/outdoor event space

Twilight Fans look closely, this will be featured in the upcoming Twilight movie.

Bedazzle my Bon Bons. Can you say cute and deeeeeelish!

SO many awesome vendors now I have the task of sitting down and sorting through all the pamphlets, business cards and magazines... FUN!

Pretty Little Things: Hand Painted Wine Glasses

No surprise that I love...LOVE Etsy, since I talk about it almost every other post but I really really really do. Okay..moving on now. I just had to share these Pretty Little Things that I found while doing one of my marathon perusings on the site.

I think these glasses would be so cute as a place setting for a bridesmaids luncheon, bridal shower or any fun festive occasion surrounding you and your bridal party. And best of all they can be customized to match your gown and bridesmaids dresses as well as the date and names.

How cute!

Tadashi Shoji

Jennifer Salzman

Claire Pettibone

Now if she passed these gowns, I can imagine how beautiful her actual gown will be. You can see the rest of the sketches HERE:
